Dreams Be Dreams

Jack Johnson's Dreams Be Dreams is one of my absolute favorite songs.

She's just waiting for the summertime when the weathers fine
She could hitch a ride out of town
And so far away from that
low down good for nothing mistake making fool
With excuses like baby that was a long time ago
But that's just a euphemism if you want the truth he was out of control
But a short times a long time then your mind just won't let it go

Well summer came along and it then was gone and so was she
Not from him because he followed her just to let her know
A dreams a dream
And all this livings so much harder than it seems
But girl don't let your dreams be dreams
You know this livings not so hard as it seems
Don't let your dreams dreams
Your dreams your dreams be dreams

The song is so short, yet so meaningful. The summertime is pretty much where everything seems to be calm and relaxed. Basically summer represents freedom in this song and many others as well. I guess I would relate the girl in the song to a bird. Both are always looking for that summertime to go so far away. Life drives us to our biggest aspirations, desires and dreams. Some people's dreams are to rise to ★stardom★, fame and fortune. While others, simply just want to escape from the harsh realities of life. Sometimes that thing, idea, concept of person that we are running away from can turn out to be our biggest motivations. The guy in the song represents that. Someone that is characterized to be a bad person, a "good for nothing," or even a person that is completely worthless is what the guy initially represents. In the second half of the song, we learn that he is, to an extent, brutally realistic. Although he tells her that "livings so much harder than it seems," he goes on to contradict his statement. Not only does he do that, but he advises her to follow her dreams. He says "Don't let your dreams be dreams." A powerful, yet simple, line that reiterates the song's title, meaning and significance.

The Golden Nature Trail

Today was a fantastic day for me. I went to the El Dorado Nature Center in Long Beach, CA. I haven't been here since I was a kid/teen. So it was good to come back to this amazing place. It brings me back not only to my childhood but to my interest in nature. I went with a friend which made it pretty awesome.

So we began walking towards the trails and it splits off into the 1/4 mile, 1 mile and 2 mile trails. We decided to start off with the 1/4 mile.

The 1/4 mile is actually a carved out trail that loops around the beginning part of the nature center. There's loads of trees and other plants that you can see. Living in a chaparral type of environment, one expects there to be an abundance of wildlife. The sight of this beautiful reservation makes me really feel one with nature.
Like honestly, we take our beautiful planet for granted.

Speaking of wildlife, before venturing off towards the quarter mile trail, we saw turtles from the bridge. Judging from other photographs, I would say they are green turtles. I do value these creatures, especially with the whole issue going about on the oil spill. I guess these turtles are lucky to be living in an environment where oils and dispersant's are not harming their life. They are so small yet they have a BIG impact in our natural world.

After finishing off our 1/4 mile trails, we proceeded to the 1 & 2 mile trails. Both of these trails were exhausting yet, beautiful. The funny part about the 1 mile is that it felt WAY shorter than the 1/4 mile. I think a part of that has to do with our pace in each of the mile trails versus the actual distance.

Everything was just BREATH-TAKING! It felt like I was in Twilight or something. All in all, it was a fantastic 3 1/4 miles of pure trails and the great outdoors!

>>>>>Next, We proceeded to the 'nature room.' This is like before you get to the trails. It's more a giftshop but it has the main room where you can touch stuff and see animals. There were spiders, snakes, xrays and more! This is one of my favorite parts of the entire thing because, i like animals and i like variety. This room offered me the best of both worlds so it was great!

The day ended with us eating lunchables at the benches. It was like a mini-park so, that was nice. All in all, today was a great day for nature, discovery, exercise and adventure all wrapped up into one. Hopefully my next adventure will be soon and in the SKY!

Tempo de Natal

Feliz Natal!

O nome do meu primo favorito é Joshua.

Jajaja.

Depois, nós comemoramos o aniversário de Leslie. Ela tem onze anos cumpridas. Seu bolo foi delicioso! No bolo foi de chocolate e morangos.  Cantamos “Feliz Aniversário” pra Leslie.

No final, a festa acabou. Mais tarde nossos abrimos nossos presentes.

O fim!

They say a pictures worth a thousand words. I really get fascinated by how a simple camera and the SNAP of a camera can capture such a moment. Sometimes we capture these moments by accident. Or perhaps sometimes, accidents help us to create BEAUTIFUL imagery.

"The virtue of the camera is not the power it has to transform the photographer into an artist, but the impulse it gives him to keep on looking."
Brooks Atkinson

It's truly captivating at what a little photo editing can do to further enhance one's vision. I usually leave my photos as is but i decided to add some effects to them and see what impression they get others that view my photographs.

We are all artists when we snap moments of our life and put them all together. The difference is how we shape it and what stories we tell by them. One thing is for sure. A picture no matter how plain or how detailed has a story.

Just One of Those Days

Just another rainy day yet this one feels different. So today (well i guess technically yesterday as well) was a very peculiar day. It started off pretty good since i went with my cousin shopping. Not for myself or anything but more or less for my parents. Everything turned out well but I guess the day itself kind of dreaded on into being bland. It seems like today is all about no matter how hard i try, everything turns out bad.

Not that i'm intentionally hoping and begging for something to occur but, i feel that sometimes i am myself too much for anything good to come out of it. I guess my troubles lie in things not necessarily going to plan. Just as the weather is unpredictable, so is my life and the people that surround me.

i hope tomorrow brings me more joy to my life. Because all i see right now is a cloudy, dark and gloomy finish line.
